The Uni Kuru Toga mechanical pencil is famous for solving a common mechanical pencil annoyance: the asymmetrical, wedge-shaped lead wear that creates unevenly thick or thin lines.

Core Mechanism & Features

• Auto-Lead Rotation Engine: Unlike traditional mechanical pencils where the lead wears down on one side to form a chisel tip, the Kuru Toga features an internal clutch gear mechanism. Every time you lift the pencil from the paper (the down-and-up stroke), a spring-loaded mechanism forces the lead to rotate by a fraction of a turn.

• Consistently Sharp Point: Because the lead rotates incrementally with every stroke, it wears down evenly into a cone shape, ensuring a razor-thin, uniform line width and preventing line blurring or breakage.
